Perhaps there is some resultant trauma to the ducts from the solidified
milk solids? Perhaps there is some residual 'gravel' left?
I remember hearing somewhere that once there is a plug, it is easier for
that duct to develop a plug again, as the walls of the duct are weakened, and
prone to form a pouch where more milk solids can collect.
