I suppose I really should just count my blessings, the mothers I'm refering to in my original post are all breastfeeding. They are not asking me should I breastfeed? but how do I breastfeed? Before they get to me their sisters and sisters in law, their mother and mother in law, their neighbors, friends, various non LC people in the hospital and the women in charge of changing diapers in the mother baby rest home have given them all the advice about breastfeeding they will ever need. This thread has made me feel better in two ways, one, that the community I work with breastfeeds for the most part and two, to be thankful the next time someone realizes that she knows nothing about breastfeeding - despite all the advice she received from the well intenioned people mentioned above.
Thanks to everyone who responded.
