Hey -- I'm a GOOD nursery nurse -- I can make virtually any newborn
take
a bottle at any time. I'm also a good IBCLC -- and I can't just
*make* any
newborn take the breast.

Yes, but when we go into the room and can't "make the baby nurse"
then we get feedback that "the LC was no help"! If I try to work
with a dyad and baby just isn't ready at that moment, when I leave
the room the nurse asks "Did the baby nurse?" and if I have to say
"No", then she often decides it's OK to give a bottle.
aaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhhh!

I must have been in the bathroom when they handed out the magic
wands after the exam. You know the ones that you simply wave and
instantly solve whatever the problem is. At least everyone else
seems to think I'm supposed to have one.

Winnie
