Hi all,
I am pretty behind in my digests, so sorry if this topic has been exhausted, and I haven't yet read all the responses, but had to add my 2 cents. I hear this ALL the time as well, guess it is universal! I reply as naturally as can be - that the sucking reflex was created by G-d or nature (whichever the client is comfortable with) for the breast and NOT as one would imagine for the silicone (or bottle mfg) companies. That one sentence usually makes them put things a bit more in perspective. and if that isn't enough of course I add that Breastfed babies get their sucking needs met at the breast, whilst bottle fed babies do not, and therefore the same companies who manufacture bottles also manufacture another substitute for Mom's breast. I go as far as saying that I would hope that bottlefed babies get a dummy and take a dummy - otherwise they may in deed be lacking having their needs met. to most that makes sense, and I always add, that the decision is theirs and if they want to introduce it, then it should be once bfg is well established,
