Both hospitals in our city have eliminated the formula bags as we are both
in the process of becoming baby friendly. I overheard the Ross salesman
tell the nurse manager the other day that they intend to have classes for
those "bottle feeding mothers". They will advertise in the newspaper and
will be giving out the formula bags at these classes. As hospitals get
wiser we can be sure that the formula companies will do more direct
marketing.
I found it interesting that the rep told the nurse manager. I still sense
a lot of allegience from the nursing management toward the formula reps.
