LInda asks

and I was just
wondering, when did the formula co. start this? I don't remember =
getting
bags when I had my sons.. ~20 years ago.

My Jill is nearly 30, and I got them -- not only little boxes with formula
and a toy in them, but bags with other presents. And because I worked at the
hospital, I think they gave me 10 or so of the gift bags. I didn't have to buy
baby shampoo for at least a year. The formula giveaways weren't nearly as
fancy as they are now....but they were there. I think Rima Apple notes that the
free formula to hospitals started in the 30s with Pet Milk.
