Job Description:
This position will assist researchers in regards to Sarasota County History and to develop the content for exhibits and other educational programming for the History Center.
Hourly Rate 14.96  to 18.46



Shift Time Shift is regular Monday - Friday, 8:00a.m. - 5:00p.m. Some evenings and weekends may be necessary as the result of meetings or exhibit receptions.

QUALIFICATIONS

Preferred


1. Experience in Historical Research or Public History education and presentation preferred.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite or related word processing, spreadsheet and database software and PowerPoint or related presentation development programs.
3. Knowledge of Graphic Design and GIS programs is desirable.
4. The ability to work in a team environment and to form successful relationships with their supervisor, co-workers, internal and external partners and with the patrons we serve.
5. Given a person's name and date(s), briefly describe what resources you would consult to research this person.
6. Given the address of a building, briefly describe how you would research this property.

* Do you have the following qualifications?***1. A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Archives Administration, History, American Studies, Public History, Library Science or one of the Social Sciences, or in an appropriate related field AND two (2) years of professional experience in related work.----OR----2. A Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in an appropriate field is preferred and may be substituted for one year of the professional experience. Progressively responsible professional experience as described herein may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required college degree.
