Hi Ya'll
Need some help regarding Domperidone here in the USA
I have been researching its use in the archives and on the internet.
Here in the USA I have talked to 2-3 pharmacists
(one in hospital and 2 local pharmacy chains).
I have not had a positive feedback. Most say that if it is not approved
by the FDA and listed as a drug accepted here that it can not be
dispensed. That it is/maybe a crime if purchased from Canada.
As seen in the news lately reguarding seniors and crossing the
boarder for less costly medication.
I have been unable to fine a Compounding pharmacy - or the
reciept for compounding. It is not in listed in Hale's. Hale
does not list the components and it only lists
UK / Canada / Austrailia as countries it is licenced in.
How do you other LCs, LLL, Doctors ect. handle this situation?
I think it would really be a benifit to our NICU mom's if there is
some legal way to provide it since it seems to have fewer side effects
than Reglan. I hope to present it to our Neonatologist once I have
more inforamation and answers to the legal issues.
Any information is appriciated.
Thank you
