Hello, My name is Kim R.-Anthony I am the nurse in charge of Lactation
Support Services at Great Plains Regional Medical Center in North Platte,
Ne. I have been "lurking" for some time and now have a question that I
can't seem to find the answer for any where.
A participant in my support group is a fire fighter and is
returning to work in 4 weeks and would really like to continue nursing
however, she has many concerns over the toxins she may inhale in different
types of fires and if they pass into breast milk and how long before they
clear.
The fire fighting association encouraged her to quit nursing (go
figure) instead of assisting her with her questions regarding the toxins.
I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks, Kim Rehling-Anthony BSN, RN, CLC
