Hi,

I am wondering how many NICUs do routine drug screens on mother's milk
for those moms who have a clear history of drug abuse? I am trying to
come up with some sort of guideline for when to do this, and am
wondering if any other NICUs have policies?

It is interesting how our NICU team will be up in arms over the
potential risk of THC or other illegal drugs for one baby, and blow it
off on another. I am interested in how other hospitals deal with this
issue.

Thanks,
Brenda Phipps, BS, IBCLC
