I've been catching up on lactnets, and am intrigued with the goat's milk
thread.
A client of mine, diabetic since childhood and unaccountably without milk
with her second child, has been able to keep him on donor milk so far (he's
7 1/2 months now, and starting solids). But her local sources are
dwindling. (She's been *deeply* grateful for the single-source cartonful
someone here connected her with.) Since he's older, she's looking for
possible ways to piece out the donor milk with something non-cow.
Could the goat milk formula be a reasonable *supplemental* beverage for this
particular boy, for whom anything that smacks of cow could be a real
problem? In what proportion (if any) with donor milk might modified goat
milk be acceptable? Other thoughts? Feel free to e-mail me either on
lactnet or privately.
