My current hospital does provide telephone calls to ALL within 48hrs of D/C
(9000+deliveries/yr) via a service we call "warmline". Patients are visited
by
the warmline attendees p/t d/c , given a magnet with the phone # with the
option to call whenever. IF the wl nurse detects a breastfdng issue, she
schedules them for a f/u visit in our brfdng outpt clinic.
WHO PAYS FOR THESE SERVICES???
Nancy
AHHH, I was hoping someone would ask this ??. The "warmline" staffing is
payed for by the proceeds from the hospital's pump store, with plenty of money
left over by the way. The followup visits are billed to the patient's
insurance.
