I wanted to clarify my last post about breastfeeding a boy and
dependence. This is not my personal view, but something that I see in
my culture.
I have found with my three girls (my son is just 2 and a half), that
despite my intuitive feelings that children will reach milestones when
they are ready, around the age of three I found myself somewhat
impatient that they become more like "big kids"--for instance get out
of diapers, wean, and sleep all night. The more children I have, the
better I get at ignoring these feelings.
It is my culture influencing me despite myself.
