Here's today's report about Kate Langbroek feeding her baby on TV, with
a nicely Weissingerised comment at the end by Queensland AMA president
Dr Tall. The whole report can be found at
http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/09/18/1063625146298.html
We can no doubt look forward to an ensuing storm in the Age's "Your
Say" pages, as there was after Kirstie Marshall fed her newborn in
Parliament, and was ejected under the "stranger in the house" rule.

Media personality Kate Langbroek's decision to feed her baby on
national television was a brave public stance on the benefits of
breastfeeding, doctors said.
In what may have been an Australian television first for a show of its
kind, Ms Langbroek calmly fed the child on Wednesday night during Ten
network's talkshow The Panel.

Dr Tall said concern over public breastfeeding was an "old fashioned
notion".
"We're advocating good health outcomes for both baby and mother here
and to sexualise the breast in the context of breastfeeding is
outrageous and actually could cause future health problems," she said.
"If a woman doesn't breastfeed it raises their risk of ovarian cancer
and breast cancer.
"If the baby doesn't get breastfed their IQ can be potentially lowered
by a few points and they are in greater risk of infections and a
greater risk of asthma allergies."
