One way I found to be effective was to inservice the Peds, FP, and Obs once
or twice a year at one of their monthly medical staff meetings during the
education component. The docs at our hospital have a business meeting
first, followed by a one hour education inservice for CMEs. If you offer
CMEs (and food) they will come. Find out who the medical staff secretary
is and make friends with her - she will act as a liasion between you and
the docs and will not only schedule you but will apply for CMEs for your
presentation once you give her a copy of your materials, as well as Xerox
any handouts and arrange for any A-V equipment you may require. Some docs
find a series of short topics less threatening (and time-consuming) than a
day-long affair.
Good luck in your endeavors!
