Subject: Docs To Use BMI in Child Obesity Fight - comment

I read with interest your recent article on the American Academy of
Pediatrics' (AAP) new policy statement on preventing obesity in
children.(Docs to Use BMI in Child Obesity Fight, August 4 2003)

However, I was very disappointed to notice that the ONLY point missed, in
the summary of recommendations released by the AAP was the one stating
"Encourage, support and protect breastfeeding."

Does your website's sponsorship deal with Mead Johnson, a leading maker of
infant formula, affect your reporting of health issues? Or was it simply an
oversight, which will be corrected?

As a "trustworthy, credible and timely health information" service I am sure
even commercial sponsorship deals would not impact on your reporting of
important health information.

Yours truly,
