I just have to share my experience today. I have a new place to add to my
list of strange places I've nursed my children -- on a float in a parade!
The little town I practice on celebrated it's 150 year anniversary this
weekend. My partners and I rode in a float in a parade, and my baby girl
nursed for the first part of the parade, then rode happily looking at the
crowd. I have to say that even though I'm a veteran at nursing in public,
even I was a little taken back by nursing in front of an entire parade
crowd! Folks all just waved at us, though, and there was no pointing and
giggling that I could make out. Baby Caroline was unfazed by the whole
thing, as she has been about the many strange places her mother has dragged
her in her short life! I figure taking her places helps people realize how
portable a nursing baby is, and hopefully encourages other women to try it
with their own babies.
