LACTNET Digest - 13 Aug 2003 - Special issue (#2003-1092)With all the traffic on this subject, I just had to jump in. I have always used the term dry-nurse to describe what my son did for the last year of his nursing. During that year he would nurse maybe 3-4 times per week and I could not express anything. I would ask him if was he getting anything and he would show me his thumb and forefinger very close together to signify a little bit and very near the end of his nursing he would stay latched on and shake his head no.
Also on the topic of public nursing. I had a deposition scheduled (NOT by me) for the day my son was born which was rescheduled until he was 6 weeks old. Nicholas was a marathon nurser. He stayed latched on the whole 3 hours of the deposition with my attorney, the man who caused the car accident, and his attorney. It was an interesting time.
