I'm with Sally in that sometimes talking about the dangers of
formula is so counter to current culture that we turn people off
before they can listen. With some audiences, yes, putting it that
strongly is the best choice. However, in other situations,
including those where I am working on gaining acceptance or where I
do not know the mind set of the person(s) I'm talking to, I use a
different approach. "Babies who do not get their mother's milk have
a higher incidence of............. ", or "Babies who don't get their
mother's milk have an 8-10 point lower IQ than those that do get
Mom's milk." The hearer then can conclude what baby is getting if
it's not getting mother's milk!
