I wonder if the apparant increase in these drugs during pregnancy is
a sort of "knee jerk" reaction to the information that women who
develop post partum depression often show signs of depression in
pregnancy. Then docs start giving more antidepressants during pg to
avoid the PPD! While it might be helpful in some situations, in
others I suspect moms would benefit from referral to persons or
agencies who can help them cope with the factors about pregnancy and
it's changes and implications that may be contributing to her
depressive state.
Is there any possible connection with antidepressant use in pg and
later development of jaundice? Just curious since we've seen a
noticable increase in jaundice lately.
