In an interview the other day with a large pediatric practice, we came to an
impass. The pediatricians who own the practice along with a couple of others,
wanted to know what kind of fees they could or could not charge for LC
services including home visits, phone consults, new baby class breastfeeding ed.,
office hours appointments, etc. They are trying to hire a p/t LC to be on call
more or less and do "phone triage" as well as meeting with patients in their
office or home when needed. They felt that if they did not charge fees for
these services, then I would be completely inundated with calls, yet, they do
want the moms to use my services, etc. They began to wonder what other
practices do and I said I would ask around. This is the very best place I can think
of to get some feedback, so if you have any, let me know! Thanks, Ann
