Hi, Peggy: I would suggest to her to see her primary care
provider/endocrinologist for a possible referral to a cardiologist for a
complete work-up. I have been seeing an increasing number of child-bearing
women within the last few years who are presenting with cardiac symptoms
and not being taken seriously and ending up with major complications.
Think of the impact on her young family, if she were to die of cardiac
complications (and I have seen it happen because her symptoms were not
taken seriously). Women's heart health is a huge issue which we all need
to be demanding be taken seriously by our health care providers.
