Ellen asked for a survival breastfeeding story. This one is relatively
minor, but still sticks out in my mind. My car broke down on the
parkway during what was supposed to be a one hour Christmas shopping
jaunt. I had my friend Laura, her toddler, and my 3 month old daughter
Alyssa. We each had one diaper with us, no food, no water. It took
over 3 hours to get towed to a service station, then hours more to get
the car repaired. Total time spent out: 8 hours. Our kids were soggy
but happy, since we just nursed them and cuddled them throughout the ordeal.
Catherine Watson Genna, BS, IBCLC NYC and finally with power restored!
