Marita makes a valid point, "As always when we discuss putting
artificial anything in baby's
mouth....please, please, please do not use "natural rubber latex".
I hadn't thought about mentioning this as we haven't used latex
gloves for some time at my hospital. At first, after latex allergy
became an issue, there were both latex and non-latex gloves
available, but eventually they just did away with any with latex to
avoid confusion. I don't know if latex is available for any
occasions that would require them, but at least the ones generally
available are not.
