I agree with Barb and do not like to use time as a factor for feeding babies.
I tell parents to think of their baby in a 24 hour segment and for them to
breastfeed the baby 8-12 (or more) in that time period.
I tell the parents to watch the baby not the clock when determining if the
baby needs to eat.
I also try to teach this to the hospital staff who are constantly telling the
mothers "it is time for the baby to eat" and you have a baby sound asleep.
