Rachel asks, "If the baby is taking newborn vitamins or any other food
supplements? And how about the mother?"
Rachel, the mother of this baby that is having blood in the stools, did give
her liquid vitamins twice last week (never before that time) but did not
pursue it much as the baby did not take them well. The baby has never been
supplemented, so she is exclusively a breastfeeding baby. As for the mother she is not
taking any vitamins. Also, neither mother or baby have been on any
antibiotics. Baby has received her first DPT immunization. This was before any blood in
stools.
