I've had very stubborn cracked lips for several months now and suspect this
is a yeasty thing (worse if I eat sugar, itchy eyes sometimes).
I started having to scrub my hands to work with newborns in the hospital a
few months ago also and am wondering if this is contributing to the
severity and longevity of the problem.
I would like to use gentian violet but for obvious reasons I am hesitating
till I can withdraw from the public eye for a few days!
Does anyone else find that scrubbing with those anti-everything hospital
soaps creates/sustains a yeast problem? (I know there's research saying
antibacterial soaps contribute to yeast/thrush.) How do you deal with it,
if so? Can you use an alternative to the fierce soaps? Do you wear gloves
when touching mom/baby, to protect them?
