JoAnne Scott stated, "that's nonsense," when asked about an IBCLC losing certification for recommending fenugreek.
To clarify a little further, if an IBCLC loses certification, this information will be published in the official IBLCE newsletter, IBCLICK. If an IBCLC receives a public reprimand, it will be published in IBCLICK as well. It will not be kept secret. Only private reprimands are not for public knowledge.
There will be a public reprimand case published in the next IBCLICK, but the reprimand is for sale and distribution of a prescription drug, domperidone, by an IBCLC in the United States who does not have prescribing rights.
