Andrea,
It is unfortunate that your hospital administrator does not recognize
his own ignorance of the issues surrounding Babywise. My vote would be
to give him a couple of the most important documents in hard copy (such
as the AAP media alert, which WAS published specifically to counter
Babywise even though it doesn't name the book specifically), and then
the URL to the ezzo.info website for him to 'do his own research' and
not just take your word for it. ("I'm SO glad that you have asked me for
documentation, as there is a LOT of evidence to support what our
instructors are sharing with parents....") Don't forget to mention that
of all the IBCLCs in the U.S. and even the world, we only know of 1 who
has supported that book, at least publicly. That's a powerful statement
to make about an entire profession that has the expertise to critique
Babywise.

There is a comment I've heard made that I think is thought-provoking to
those who are not yet "up the Ezzo curve" and are still trying to sort
out the truth: How many experts must be disbelieved in order to believe
in the authors or the soundness of their materials? The list of critics
is far longer and more impressive in credential than is the list of
supporters.

I also think it would be wise to avoid attacking Dr. Bucknam directly,
as it may only serve to cause defensiveness that will not allow the
evidence to be heard. A well-articulated position backed with
documentation is your best offense.
