Hello everone,
I pass on this post for two reasons:
 1. If anyone in the Boston area would like to attend it is
open to the public at no charge.
 2. To inform us all about what looks like an exciting program
and hopefullly a trend in the area of getting the word out on
prevention research, a subject near and dear to all of us
in the breastfeeding commmunity.

Please see below and attached for information on two important events for
public health researchers and others, taking place on Tuesday, April 29th
at
the Union Club in Boston.

April 29, 8:00 AM - 12 noon - "Advocacy and Communications Seminar for
Prevention Researchers"
This is a professional seminar, offered free, to 12-14 prevention
researchers who would like to identify and cultivate the skills needed to
effectively communicate the value of their research to the media, elected
officials, and policy makers.

April 29, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM - "Making Prevention Research News!"
This is a dialogue for prevention and public health researchers,
practitioners, advocates, and students and for journalism and
communication
professionals. Jim Hartz, nationally recognized television and print
journalist, will moderate two dialogues - the first between a panel of
media
professionals and a panel of prevention researchers and the second between
the panelists and the members of the audience. There is no charge for
attending this event.

These events are free and are part of "Prevention Research: The Hidden
Necessity", an initiative of Research!America and The Medical Foundation
in
collaboration with Harvard School of Public Health, Boston University
School
of Public Health, UMass School of Public Health and Health Sciences, Tufts
University Graduate Programs in Public Health, Massachusetts Department of
Public Health, Massachusetts Public Health Association, and The Boston
Foundation. See attached documents for details on these events. To
