Roger Short's presentation at the ILCA Australia conference was very
moving. He spoke with great passion about his subject & urged us all to do
our bit to try & change things. The situation in Africa is frightening. The
research they have done is great.Hopefully one day women in the "developed"
world will be encouraged to feed their babies exclusively for 6 months if
they have HIV/AIDS too,as the research appears to be so overwhelmingly for
it.I was led to believe when studying for "the EXAM" that HIV was an
envelope virus & that breastmilk kills envelope viruses. Are we/they too
scared to suggest the same for our mothers as they suggest/advise for their
mothers in Africa? How much research do we need? Will we ever get enough to
satisfy-whom?
