Since a Babies R Us opened here locally (about a mile from my home) my La
Leche League group has had a booth almost monthly (for around 5 years now).
We keep our name out there so moms can know where to go for questions and
help/support. Also I get moms coming up to my booth saying they came to the
Baby Fest just to talk to LLL. Since the focus of March is CBE &
Breastfeeding this month I won't be a "fluff" vendor.
This is also how I got to know the manager and found it very easy to get my
part-time job there. Also I do a monthly seminar on breastfeeding & breast
pumps that is very well attended.
So while the big Baby Faire seems a bit "commercial" the smaller ones inside
each store varies by the store manager and promotion coordinator. I usually
urge all LLLL to combine forces with their local Babies R Us to get word out
about their groups. Especially since non-profits can have a booth for free
(most vendors pay a $25 fee).
