Interesting new article in Contemporary Peds on the History of Formula :-b
Actually I was able to correctly answer the Infant Formula Trivia Quiz
correctly, not sure what that means !

The next article "Is there a role for long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids
in infant nutrition?"  ends with "In light of the available information,
pediatricians should continue to strongly recommend breastfeeding of both
full-term and preterm infants (see the Guide for Parents on page 124).
Larger studies with longer follow-up are needed to determine conclusively
the cost-effectiveness and safety of routine LCPUFA supplementation of
infant formulas."

The Guide for Parents on page 124 makes it plain that nobody knows the
answers and BF is best!  Contemporary Pediatrics February 2003, Vol. 20, No.

Also in same issue an interesting article on iron deficiency anemia in
toddlers that speaks  of breastfeeding or rather cessation of BF being a
reason that toddlers develop anemia around one year.  Food for thought for
