During the 5 years that I was the only LC in a hospital that included a
Level III NICU, we used the Ross sterile water bottles for storage.
After reading the post about relative costs for various containers, I
wondered if anyone is using the Medela CSF bags in hospital? I looked
up the cost of buying them in bulk in the rental station price list, and
this works out to $0.23 per bag (hospital cost may be less). While these
are not my favorite milk storage containers, they are sterile and
food-safe.
I'm just speculating here, and wondering if these could be a practical
alternative for NICU use.
