I was only able to watch the last hour and a half and, like Ellen, was
pleased to hear all of the mothers who were asked about feeding method say
they were breastfeeding. There were several comments made which definitely
promoted breastfeeding like "breast is best" (that was followed by "whenever
possible") and "breastfeeding is so important" as well as Mary Alice's brief
segment about breastfeeding. I think she said more than 70% of babies start
off breastfeeding and 1/3 of them are still breastfeeding at 6 months. She
also stated these are the highest rates in over 50 years. She mentioned
several of the illnesses and diseases it protects against and ended the
segment by saying it gives a boost to the baby's immune system.

The program was sponsored by Johnson & Johnson (kudos to them!) although a
commercial for PediaSure (a nutritional supplement for children ages 1-10)
ran a couple of times.
