Cindy,
You asked about BF coalitions and ILCA affiliates in local areas.
1) We have in our area the South Brisbane & Logan Breastfeeding Coalition, [log in to unmask] with representatives from a number of professional organisations and hospitals, etc. We have federal funding and have recently run a breastfeeding promotion with advertisements on the buses, and have surveyed grandparents, and their beliefs and needs - among other activities.
2) A local ILCA affiliate is the Queensland Lactation College (state-based), which is affiliated with the Network of Australian Lactation Colleges (NALC), as well as being an ILCA affiliate. Website: go to the NALC web site, www.lactation.org.au and click on Queensland on the map of Australia. (Queensland is the large state with the pointy top in the north-east of our island continent.)
