Hi,
Lara said

I haven't seen anyone else post this URL yet; sorry if I missed it and
am repeating something. One of the Age's photos of Kirstie Marshall
feeding her baby is here:
http://www.theage.com.au/articles/2003/02/26/1046064105574.html

The Australian newspapers and TV have been alive with photos of women
breastfeeding in the last few days. Kirsty Marshall, formerly an olympic
arial skier, and now a member of State Parliament was asked to leave the
chamber during question time on Wednesday by the Sargent At Arms. She was
breastfeeding her 11 day old baby. The baby was regarded as a "stranger"
(ie not an elected member of parliament.) This, as you can imagine, has
caused great controversy. Most of the media and public comment has been
supportive of breastfeeding in public, but we have got some unsupportive
comments as well. It has co-incided with a large seminar hosted by the
Australian Breastfeeding Association on Thursday in Melbourne where Sheila
Kitzinger was our keynote speaker. The media attention at the conference
reached a state of frenzy. Our spokespeople worked overtime giving media
interviews for several days. Yesterday's Herald Sun and Age in Melbourne
featured ABA counsellor Andrea Porteous feeding her 10mnth old. She was
"allowed" to feed her child in the public gallery at Parliament House. She
was asked at the door whether she intended go in to feed her baby by a
nervous attendant. She replied "I most certainly am - in fact he's feeding
now" The attendant hadn't even noticed.
