Everyone in my unit thinks I'm an oddball - they couldn't believe I didn't
want the little black diaper back with the Ross bear on it from the Synergis
rep, or that I didn't want to eat the lunch they brought in with the
Synergis video tape - people were saying - "take the bag and give it to me
if you don't want it - I'd like to have 2!" - I had to explain how that
defeats the purpose!

Then at a professional association meeting that evening, the other formula
company provided dinner. I didnt eat that either - just stuck to the cup of
coffee and cookies I had brought with me for the occasion. I don't make a
big deal about it, I just carry print outs from the "No free lunch" site of
all the pharmaceutical facts and hand them to anyone who really wants to
know. The word is spreading though and I am filling the jar of formula and
pharm company badge clips at a rapid pace by trading them out for IT
industry badge clips. Nobody needs a computer to lower their blood pressure
or treat their diabetes after all.

I don't have to do it loudly, but I can still do it - and I may be a drop in
the bucket, but a drop is still a drop.

Michelle
