We have just up-dated the information about the breastfeeding program in our
hospital here in Tel Aviv. This hospital was once the most breastfeeding
un-friendly hospital in the country, and within 5 years, with alot of
trials, tears, and frustrations, we have turned around. It is far from
perfect, but also far from the way it was before ( breastfeeding schedules,
untrained staff, lots of supplements, etc........and who ever heard of
rooming-in then??)
If it was done here, it can be done anywhere, believe me. Now more and more
hospitals in Israel are following suit. We have 90% desire-to-breastfeed
rates.
