I have a mom who is exclusively pumping; her baby is 6 days old and has a
high bilirubin, so they are doing a trial of no breastmilk (yes, I know, I
know..but the mom's first baby had jaundice for two months and there's a
history of Gilbert's disease in the family (something to do with the way
bilirubin is excreted).
Mom is suffering from a painful plugged duct that has not responded so far
to the usual measures. Any other suggestions, particularly with respect to
pumping, that will help this mom get past the plugged duct?
Thanks in advance,
Julie, LLLL in NJ
