Star,
We also have the hearing test, which often leads to the baby being taken
from the breast and returned to the nsy for the darn test. re the pacifier,
you have several options:
1. when you see the paci in the crib after the test is done, throw it away
2. mention to the parents that you do not advise paci and why and throw it
away in their presence. if they haven't requested it, that should not be a
problem.
3. ask the nurses to throw it away after the test, explain why if needed.
4. i made headway at least in hospital explaining that paci use is
associated with ear infections, thrush, and bf troubles.
