I received a call from a nurse on the maternity unit at a major hospital here. She asks about a new mother who received Dostinex (to inhibit her unusally high level of Prolactin) during her pregnancy and is continuing now after birth on the advice of her OB-GYN.
Th. Hale says that this will totally stop lactation- her Dr. claims not.
I advised so far trying to induce lactation by nipple stimulation (by hand or with the baby, SKS) but to be aware of milk production and weight gain.
Anyone have any experience with this?
Thanks,
Gerri
