Does anyone have any information I can use regarding early bottles causing
nipple confusion and difficulty with latch on and breastfeeding difficulties
in the early days? I need research based evidence for the hospital I
volunteer at. We have many moms who's babies were given bottles with regular
nipples in the hospital, for whatever reasons, low blood sugar, jaundice,
prematurity etc...and those same moms have had much trouble with
breastfeeding, especially latch on and nipple preference. I am trying to get
the hospital to use different nipples for the babies that are to be breasfed,
but they want research based evidence that these regular nipples (the
disposable ones that the formula companies supply) are causing the problems.
I have had success using the playtex nurser nipple and eventually getting the
baby back to breast. Does any one have any success with the adiri breast
bottles? Any recommendations? I have accumulated many articles, but the more
I can find the better. Thanks in advance.
