I read recently (sorry, I can't remember where just now) that the danger
comes from the exhalations of the smoker. Every time they breathe out,
particles of the "crap" from smoking are released. The baby is exposed by
rebreathing the same air. I guess sleeping close for a number of hours
would increase the amount that the baby breathes in as opposed to during
the daytime.
