Based on my experience as a child (mumble) years ago when I would put the
stem of a fresh a white carnation into a bottle of ink and watch it turn
itself blue, perhaps there is a better way to test the drawing action of
cabbage leaves. My carnation experiment only shows me that many plants have
a drawing action. (Insert image of carnations sprouting out from bra
cups...)

Why wouldn't you be able to find edemic fluids or milk from the breast
within the leaves or veins of cabbage if it really "drew" fluids from the
breast? It doesn't just disappear. At least I remember that much from high
school physical sciences.
It changes it's form. Into what?
Or it goes somewhere. Where?

full of questions, not criticisms

"In response to these studies, a letter to the editor of the Journal of
Human
Lactation written by Linda Caplan, RN, MS, IBCLC, stated a question of why
were researchers looking for some "elusive" chemical in the cabbage leaves.
She suggested that the drawing action of the cabbage leaves be looked at
instead. She gave an example of how she placed different cabbage leaves in
red-colored and blue-colored water with only 2 inches of the leaf being
cover. What resulted was that the entire leaf turned the color of the water.
(Caplan, 1999) No further studies directed at this line of hypotheses could
be found."
