I received mom's permission to post and for once wasn't lazy and actually
search the archives on the topic and found nothing that answered the
question. A mom called in with a question about flax seed oil. A friend
had recommended it for plugged ducts (1000 mg - 1x/day). She reports that
the plugged ducts have cleared and not returned and wants to continue
taking the flax seed oil on a preventive basis. Then she read the bottle
which gave warning not to use it without consulting a health care
practitioner due to the risk of elevated phytoestrogen levels and
associations with development. I have found nothing on this in any of my
texts and am about to launch a lit search. Anyone out there have any info
on the topic?
Thanks,
