Hi All HELP,
I have a baby(born full term no problems) that is now about 2 months and had
most of his small intestines removed related to a volvulus. He is now home
and his port is out related to complication and will not be replace for a
week or two. He has only had breastmilk. They tried breastmilk fortifier
and had to be placed back in the NICU related to gross GI bleeding. We are
looking into lactoengineering the milk to help increase calories, but really
don't know how to start. I have tried calling Paula Meier, but can't seem
to get to the correct number or correct person to get to Paula. I am
concerned that giving too much fat might upset his delicate balance. Any
and all thought would be helpful. If you are a doctor and read this please
pass your thought along. The baby's father is one of our doctors and the
mother is a RN.
Thanks,
