There have been lots of posts on this listserv proving that the guilt
argument vis a vis bf is a red herring. The question is, how do we
deal with that in the "real world." When such "red herrings" come up
in other areas of my life, I usually either ignore it and move on
to the next point, or point out that the argument being offered is a
red herring and try to figure out what the real argument/objection
is so that we can have a meaningful conversation. The bf and guilt
argument seems to be pretty pervasive in some places, esp. among
hcps who, for whatever reason, won't or can't really get behind bf
as a health choice not a life style choice. I admire all of you
who face these obstacles every day and dedicate yourselves to
educating your colleagues, bosses, and clients so that all of us
can live in a healthier world.
