A month ago I posted on a six month old boy who has fought the breast since
birth, and got many useful responses from the list.
He is taking more solids now, and seems to prefer them to nursing. But he
still has problems with vomiting and spitting up, and nursing is still a
struggle. The family got a new referral to the pediatric unit at the
hospital, where I'm happy to report that they are being taken most seriously.
They still don't have any firm answers but feel things are moving in the right
direction. This time he will definitely be checked for reflux, among other
things.
I'd like to say again how much it has meant to me, and to her, to be able to
get input from the list when we are stymied by something so unusual that no
one here has really seen it before. It has been great for her to have direct
contact with someone who has experienced something like her situation too.
