Dear Lactnet,
I always have the TV on in my home office. This morning on"Today" show
on NBC a segment was on that showed a pregnant reporter strolling the aisles
on a baby store for "must haves". Showed the Boppy "to bring baby up to
comfortable height while nursing" and a Pump and Style Traveler "available
for $100 less from hospitals." ??? Their website says to wait until
lactation is established until purchasing a breast pump, though. At least
approached BFing as a given. No bottle systems were shown.
Then, I came in on tail end discussion of rerun of "The View" on ABC. I
saw portion where Joy Bedhar said sleeping with baby was normal and
bonding/security for babies. Lisa Ling said it was many times a "cultural"
issue. A soap opera fill-in host talked about "lack of sex life" with kids
in bed. But overall, the part I saw was favorable!
I like seeing what my moms are gleaning from popular shows and I can
comment. These shows reach millions of viewers.
